Resum: Aquest volum conté la majoria de les conferències plenàries i algunes de les comunicacions presentades al Segon Congrés Europeu de la IAFL sobre Lingüística Forense/Llengua i Dret celebrat a l'Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona) els dies 14, 15 i 16 de setembre de 2006. La celebració d'aquest congrés va ser la resposta a una necessitat, manifestada des de feia molt de temps per la comunitat científica, d'aplegar a tots els investigadors europeus, però també d'altres continents, que es dediquen a la recerca i actuen de perits en els diferents camps en què s'estructura la Lingüística Forense/Llengua i Dret. Inclou 5 conferències plenàries, 22 comunicacions, 3 treballs sotmesos al col·loqui, Law & Cognition , 3 treballs sotmesos al col.loqui, Comprehensibility in Legal Contexts , i 2 pòsters - tots ells avaluats d'acord amb la seva a) rellevància conceptual i metodològica pel que fa a la Lingüística Forense, b) substància empírica i conceptual, c) qualitat argumentativa, i d) originalitat.

Resumen: Este volumen contiene la mayoría de las conferencias plenarias y algunas de las comunicaciones presentadas al Segundo Congreso Europeo de la IAFL sobre Lingüística Forense/Lengua y Derecho, celebrado en el Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona) los días 14, 15 i 16 de setiembre de 2006. La celebración de este congreso supuso la resposta a una necesidad, manifestada desde hacia mucho tiempo por la propia comunidad científica, de congregar a todos los investigadores europeos, pero también de otros continentes, que se dedican a la investigación y actúan de peritos en los diferentes campos en que se estructura la Lingüística Forense/Lengua y Derecho. Incluye 5 conferencias plenarias, 22 comunicaciones, 3 trabajos presentados en el coloquio, Law & Cognition , 3 trabajos presentados al coloquio, Comprehensibility in Legal Contexts , y 2 posters - todos ellos evaluados según su a) relevancia c onceptual y metodológica en relación a la Lingüística Forense, b) sustancia empírica y conceptual, c) calidad argumentativa, y d) originalidad.

Abstract: This volume contains several of the papers presented at the Second European IAFL Conference on Forensic Linguistics/Language and the Law , held at the Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona (Spain)) on September 14-16, 2006. This conference responded to the long-felt need to bring together scholars from Europe, but also from other regions of the world, who conduct research and act as expert witnesses in court in a series of dimensions of Forensic Linguistics/Language and the Law. It includes 5 plenary lectures, 22 papers, 3 papers submitted to the Colloquium on Law and Cognition , 3 papers submitted to the Colloquium on Comprehensibility in Legal Contexts and 2 posters, all of them evaluated on the basis of a) conceptual and methodological relevance to the study of Forensic Linguistics/Language and the Law, b) empirical and conceptual substance, c) quality of argumentation and d) originality.
