Resum: Aquest volum conté una selecció de les comunicacions presentades al Third Mediterranean Morphology Meeting, que va tenir lloc a l'Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Geert Booij (Universitat Lliure d'Amsterdam), Angela Ralli (Universitat de Patràs) i Sergio Scalise (Universitat de Bolonya) van iniciar aquesta sèrie de simposis fa uns anys, per tal de reunir estudiosos d'arreu del món en un entorn mediterrani i debatre-hi temes d'estructura morfològica i teoria lingüística. Després de l'MMM1 a Mytilene (Grècia) i l'MMM2 a Malta, l'IULA es va complaure d'acollir morfòlegs d'Europa, Amèrica del Nord i Amèrica del Sud durant l'MMM3 el setembre de 2001.

Els temes principals dels treballs que s'inclouen al volum són el límit entre sintaxi i morfologia i el paper de les restriccions prosòdiques en morfologia.

Resumen: Este volumen contiene una selección de las comunicaciones presentadas en el Third Mediterranean Morphology Meeting que tuvo lugar en el Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Geert Booij (Universidad Libre de Amsterdam), Angela Ralli (Universidad de Patrás) y Sergio Scalise (Universidad de Bolonia) iniciaron esta serie de simposios hace unos años para reunir a estudiosos de todo el mundo en un entorno mediterráneo y debatir temas de estructura morfológica y teoría lingüística. Después del MMM1 en Mytilene (Grecia) y el MMM2 en Malta, el IULA acogió a morfológos de Europa, América del Norte y América del Sur durante el MMM3 en septiembre de 2001.

Los temas principales de los trabajos que se incluyen en el volumen son el límite entre sintaxis y morfología y el papel de las restricciones prosódicas en morfología.

Abstract: This volume contains a selection of the papers presented at the Third Mediterranean Morphology Meeting, which was held at the Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada of Universitat Pompeu Fabra. This conference series was initiated some years ago by Geert Booij (Free University of Amsterdam), Angela Ralli (University of Patras) and Sergio Scalise (University of Bologna) in order to bring scholars together from around the world in a Mediterranean setting to discuss issues of morphological structure bearing on linguistic theory. Following MMM1 in Mytilene, Greece and MMM2 in Malta, the Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada was pleased to be host to morphologists from Europe, North America and South America for MMM3 in September, 2001.

The main topics of the papers included in this volume are the borderline between syntax and morphology and the role of prosodic constraints in morphology.
