If you are interested in moving to Barcelona for carrying out research in Applied Linguistics, or are planning to spend a period of time here (from three to twelve months), the IULA opens a call for the incorporation of doctoral researchers as members or collaborators of the centre in the following research lines:
Lexicography, terminology, neology, specialized discourse, text analysis, sociolinguistics, linguistic variation, demolinguistics, contact languages, forensic linguistics, linguistic technologies, linguistic engineering and resources creation, computational linguistics, digital documentation, knowledge management, or related fields.
Contracting possibilities through competitive programmes promoted by the Ministeri de Ciència i Innovació, the Generalitat de Catalunya or the European Union.

letter, information about your PhD thesis and CV
If you have defended your thesis within the last two years or are about to defend it and you would like to start a research career in Applied Linguistics, the IULA offers you the possibility of linking you with one of its research groups through the programme Beatriu de Pinós of the Generalitat de Catalunya, or Juan de la Cierva of the Ministeri de Ciència i Innovació. Both programmes offer the possibility of linking with the university by means of a temporary contract of two or three years.
PhD candidates

Are you interested in linguistic applications? Would you like to be trained in Applied Linguistics? The IULA and its research groups offer full or part-time scholarships compatible with the studies.
The IULA offers you a variety of Master programmes (official or own master programmes) that may lead you to continue with the PhD to do a thesis in any of the following subjects:
Lexicology, lexicography, terminology, neology, specialized discourse, text analysis, phraseology, sociolinguistics, linguistic variation, demolinguistics, contact languages, forensic linguistics, linguistic techonologies, linguistic engineering and resources creation, computational linguistics, digital documentation, knowledge management, or related fields.
If you already have an official - or related - Master's degree and want to do a thesis in the PhD programme, send us a motivation letter and we will put you in contact with the research group most related to your interests.
Computer science technicians

If you have a bachelor's degree or a diploma and would like to work in a research centre, the IULA requires computer science technicians for research support interested in programming applications (Ruby, Perl, Java and/or C ++)
Internship students

If you are studying translation, linguistics, computer science, documentation, philology, humanities, journalism, audiovisual communication, or any other speciality, and you are interested in doing an internship in an Applied Linguistics research and development centre, the IULA offers specific internships every course to collaborate in R+D projects. Professionalising and certified internships with tutorial assistance are also available.
