The members of the IULA express our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family and colleagues of Professor Inés Kuguel, who has passed too young after a long illness. Inés Kuguel had been professor of the linguist area the Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento (San Miguel, Argentina). Her research areas have been lexical semantics, lexical morphology, the interface between lexicon and syntax, neology, terminology and specialised discourse. She defended her PhD dissertation, entitled La semántica del léxico especializado: los términos en textos de ecología, in 2006 at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, under the supervision of Guiomar Ciaspucio (UBA) and M. Teresa Cabré Castellví (UPF).
In contact with the IULATERM group and the Observatori de Neologia since 1994, she took an active part in several activities organised at UPF, several academic cooperation networks and, as author, in some of the IULA’s publications.
Dear Inés, we shall miss you.
