Gerardo Sierra, director of the Linguistic Engineering Group (GIL) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), has been on a research period from 23 June to 23 July at the IULA (University Institute for Applied Linguistics).
The main purpose of the visit is to follow up the project "Detección y medición automática de similitud textual", CONACYT 2012-2016, in which the Institute is involved with the work package on discourse analysis, led by Iria da Cunha. The Laboratoire Informatique d’Avignon from the Université d'Avignon et des Pays de Vaucluse (LIA-UAPV) also takes part in this project.
Another objective of the visit is to supervise Jorge Adrián Lázaro’s doctoral thesis “Mecanismo de apoyo conceptual en la definición terminográfica: el caso de los ejemplos y contextos de uso”, co-supervised with M. Teresa Cabré Castellví from the IULATERM group.
