Núria Gavaldà and Sheila Queralt, members of the UVAL group and the Forensic Linguistics Laboratory, gave the paper «La lingüística forense i el paper del peritatge lingüístic» last Wednesday, 2 April, at the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (Institute for Catalan Studies), organised by the Societat Catalana d'Estudis Jurídics (Catalan Society for Legal Studies).
The aim of the conference was to give an introduction to Forensic Linguistics as a discipline, while stressing the importance of the role of the expert linguist in our society.
